Thanksgiving Day thoughts

chopped woods waiting for splitting now.

It is Thanksgiving Day in the US today but I am not doing anything special for that this year.

My spouse has to stay in his office all day to finish up his joint research project with a university faculty in Japan. The faculty wants it to be completed this weekend. I guess he does not know it is holiday here.

But that is OK. Because I am busy too.

I have to shoot photos of my paintings that I did not do well last week and I have to chop up the logs.
Both of us are busy and both of us are coming down with cold so that it was good idea not having a get-together.
This weekend, our grown children are having fun with their siblings and friends while their parents are living a separate season of their lives.
Sometimes, I feel sad about it, but since there is nothing I can do, I just keep my life busy by setting new goals each day.

In many ways, my life is not ideal nor perfect but there are plenty to be thankful, such as our beautiful land, our cat, and edible plants still out there for us to munch.
After all, happiness is not perfection nor completeness but it is something to notice.

Seasons of our lives:
Create many hues and tints
Balance them with joy.

Abundance from the Nature Never Forsakes us

Blog Main Image

I harvested the very last tomatoes just before the snowfall. They were green, but the color can be changed to red, if you keep them in a warm room or keep them with apples in a plastic bag. Perhaps, I can make them into jam or pickles. Ah, how fun!
I love living simply which offers deeper sense of happiness, opposite from what the world offers which is excitements.

There's nothing to waste.
Abundance from the nature,
Never forsakes us.

The election is over and now I can finally enjoy this beautiful season!
The nature is an untouched civilization that it does not care about men's affairs;
it exists for decades and centuries without such worries.
It exists to live its destiny.
It blossoms and shines when the time comes and dies when the time comes without a word to complain.
But I am certain it can hear everything.
I believe the nature is a living entity like human in a different form.
The nature listens the sounds we make and watches our movements.
And I sense the nature probably thinks, we, humans are absurd.

Everyday, I am either in the shadow or the sun rays.
I am sad when I am in the shadow but happy when in the sun rays.
But this is how the life is.
After all, there is no life without shadows.
Either way is beautiful.

Winter Palette

It is below the freezing point today and it is so quiet outside that I hear nothing but birds chirping to find safe, dry place for hiding.
Yes, I saw one white droplet falling from the equally white sky.
It is officially winter here that means it is time to rest, if not physically, then emotionally.

Palette of winter:
Scarlet, pine, and porcelain,
Purifying all things.
The flames, crackling fire sounds
Making the palette vibrant.

Snow and Fairy Tree

While taking care of our back yard yesterday, snow started to fall. This is the first snow for this season. It was wet and cold but beautiful. I blanketed around each tree with fallen leaves. I think I created eco-art!

The sleepy fairy,
Wrapped by her golden jewel,
In the falling pearls.
